| HOW LONG WILL THE UPGRADE TAKE? |
| The upgrade is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2008. This date is subject to change. We will update you as more information is communicated to us. |
| WHAT IS ADSL? |
| ADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. ADSL is a form of DSL, a data communications technology that enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines than a conventional voiceband modem can provide. For more information on ADSL, please click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADSL |
| WHAT IS PPPoE? |
| PPPoE stands for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet. For more information on PPPoE, please click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPPoE |
| WILL MY ADSL MODEM WORK WITH PPPoE? |
| Please see the list below for modems that we know work with PPPoE. This list will be updated as more modems are confirmed to be compatible. If you do not see your modem listed, please contact our Technical Support staff at 430-1575 or email support@sunbeach.net and we will research your modem for compatibility: |
| WHAT IF MY MODEM IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW CHANGES? |
| Once it is realized that your modem is incompatible, we can suggest a modem that you can acquire. |
| HOW DOES THIS AFFECT MY ADSL SERVICE? |
| Once the change has been completed, there will be no difference in service. After the upgrade has been completed, your ADSL Service will only work with the new PPPoE protocol. |
| PLEASE NOTE: |
| If you change your modem to this new protocol before we inform you to do so, your ADSL modem will not be able to connect to the Internet. |
| WILL THERE BE ANY LOSS OF SERVICE? |
| After successfully configuring your modem for PPPoE, your ADSL service will continue to work as normal. Please note that if there is a loss of ADSL line service your ADSL account with Sunbeach may still be used for regular dialup connectivity until the ADSL line service is restored. |
| ARE THERE ANY NEW LINE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIE MAINTENANCE? |
| No, your line charge and the price of your service will remain the same. |
